On the quiet side of the California Desert, where the mountains hold the last of the light, Yucca Dunes is the home most groups think they cannot find. Two and a third acres, a Tuscan villa built around an outdoor courtyard, and room for sixteen. A place shaped for a long table at dinner, and the kind of mornings nobody wants to interrupt.

The home
The plan is open without being loud. Warm natural light moves across the floors in the morning, and the kitchen opens onto a long patio that hosts dinner most nights. Inside, there are quiet rooms when you want them and shared spaces when you want each other. A pool table, an arcade corner, and lounging spots that hold whoever happens to drift in.

The grounds
Outside, the rhythm shifts. The pool runs with a water slide on one end and a hot tub on the other. There are pickleball and basketball courts, a putting green, and a bocce surface, all framed by native plants brought back to this land rather than replaced. Bluetooth speakers carry music from the patio to the pool to the spa, so the music follows you instead of the other way around.

Made for groups, gentle on them too
Yucca Dunes was shaped for sixteen, and it does that work without ever feeling like sixteen. The shared spaces are wide. The quiet corners are real. Families pick it for multi-generation trips, and the kind of friend group that has been gathering for ten years picks it too. It is a few minutes from a tennis garden and from some of the better golf in the country, and a short drive from the festival grounds in April.
Absolutely spectacular location. Pictures cannot do it justice. One of the most beautiful places we have ever vacationed.

What is around it
Indian Wells Tennis Garden is five minutes away. PGA West and a stretch of the desert’s better golf is twenty. The Coachella festival grounds sit half an hour off; in April the desert turns inside out for the festival, and Yucca Dunes is one of the homes that keeps its quiet through the noise. The rest of the year, this stretch of California is empty in a way that most of California is not.
Yucca Dunes books up early for Coachella and the long holidays. The dates worth booking are usually the next ones available.
